The future of sports is one where gender equality is no longer a barrier but rather a driving force. The WOMEN UP project is a European initiative that is taking the lead in breaking down gender stereotypes and prejudices in the world of sports, culture, and society. The goal is to create an ecosystem that supports equal relations between men and women, and this starts with the training of sports organisations.
Recently, we were happy to attend the kick-off meeting of the WOMEN UP project in Pisa, Italy. The project is based on the results of the AGES project, which provides a clear understanding of the situation and perception of adolescents in terms of gender stereotypes and prejudices in sports. WOMEN UP project aims to effectively target its efforts to promote gender equality in sports.
